    Chicamacomico Lifesaving Station

    The Chicamacomico Lifesaving Station consists of seven historic buildings that are listed on both the National and State Historic Registers. As the most complete lifesaving station in the United States, the Chicamacomico Lifesaving Station has buildings that date back to 1874. Visitors enjoy the Gothic architecture and the museum that exhibits lifesaving displays, shipwreck artifacts and other local artifacts.

    Roanoke Island Festival Park

    The Roanoke Island Festival Park features daily programs aboard Elizabeth II, in the Settlement Site and the interactive Roanoke Adventure Museum.     Frisco Native American Museum & Natural History Center

    The Frisco Native American Museum & Natural History Center is home to a nationally recognized collection of Native American artifacts, exhibits and natural history displays. Exhibits include artifacts from the first inhabitants of Hatteras Island and information on Native American tribes across the United States. Several acres of nature trails are also lcoated at the center.

    Bodie Island Lighthouse

    The current Bodie Island Lighthouse is the third to stand on this location. Wrought with problems since the beginning, the original Bodie Island Lighthouse was slanted, the second was blown up by Confederate Troops during the Civil War and the third currently stands proudly. The lighthouse itself is not open to the public, but there is a museum and old keeper's house on the premises.
